DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Ross Naidoo\nOrganisation: Agri-Science Queensland\, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries \nRoss Naidoo is the Senior Food Science Liaison Officer with Innovative Food Technologies (IFT)\, a unit of the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. His formal qualification and training cover Food Processing and Technology\, Export Management\, Innovation Marketing & Commercialisation\, International Business\, Economics and Philosophy. \n  \nRoss has over 28 years’ experience in food manufacturing\, R&D\, industry and business development\, trade and investment and corporate management. \nIn his current role\, his focus is to assist the Queensland Agri-food industries better utilise food research\, development and extension capabilities to accelerate innovation within businesses\, firms and industry; all with a view to improving productivity\, optimising competitiveness and driving technology and innovation such that it has a practical economic outcome for businesses which are employment-creating for Queensland and Australia. \nTOPIC \nOver the past four years\, Queensland’s Department of Agriculture and Fisheries’ Innovative Food Technology unit (IFT) has run several short and medium-term transformational innovation projects designed to generate a tangible impact of economic value\, such as shelf life validation activities for export markets. \nIn this webinar\, Ross will describe how the IFT team has helped Queensland businesses develop unique IP or trade secret positions that make them more valuable to markets and investors. \nHe’ll share the lessons learned from helping businesses overcome common innovation advancement challenges\, e.g. communication\, legal process\, maintaining focus\, investor-readiness\, financial management\, and many more.
