The Innovate Queensland Money Magnet workshop provides you with practical advice on capital raising from existing high-growth businesses and regional support representatives, as well as proven concepts delivered by experts to help your business attract and secure investment.
In this workshop, you’ll hear from local Queensland innovation representatives on emerging funding and business opportunities and where you can find support specific to your region and across the state. You’ll then be connected with a successful high-growth business leader to discuss key learnings and insights on how they successfully started and scaled their business. Finally, a globally recognised innovation and commercialisation expert will then walk through a range of proven methods and hacks that you can apply in your business.
Tyson Jennings from Yodel
Tyson is the co-founder of Yodel, originally a shift filling platform made by Simon and Tyson, a couple of McDonald’s managers, designed to help managers and business owners connect with their staff and fill shifts in seconds. Covid-19 meant the business had to change. Now Yodel is a local business listing platform that helps people discover and support local businesses, deals and specials. With over 16,000 businesses listed on the platform and thousands of users, Yodel is the new way to connect with your local community.
Yodel helps business owners migrate customers to any platforms that work best for their business. We do this by connecting your profile to any prefered platforms including UberEATS, Menu log, social media, jobs, websites, booking forms, Covid check-in, online stores the options for your business are endless.
Tyson has a background is corporate sales and partnerships, specialising identifying and setting up partnerships in new and existing markets. He operates as the Chief Cheerleader and CMO of Yodel.
Joanna Apps from EC Connect and Logan Startup Hub
Joanna is the Co-Founder of ECConnect and Logan Startup Hub, she has also been very proactive in helping to build our Logan entrepreneur/startup ecosystem, as a founding leader of INNOV8 Logan and member of Logan Angels and Redlands Angels investment groups.
Having recently exited from ECConnect via a successful M&A deal, Joanna now aims to leverage her own experience and business knowledge to help other small companies find success and growth opportunities through her work at the Logan Startup Hub and INNOV8 Logan
Dr Lewis Atkinson from Impact Innovation Group
Dr Lewis Atkinson is a unique innovation and design-thinking professional and international Strategic Management facilitator. He has 30 years’ experience in knowledge production and transfers through both commercial and public-good innovation pathways to market.
Lewe started his boundary-spanning career in FMCG operations, planning and research with Unifoods Australia. In 1993 he became Research and Information Services Manager for Australian Meat Technology Pty Ltd, a CSIRO technology start-up and management consulting company. He joined a team that started a new industry-owned innovation and marketing services company – Meat and Livestock Australia Ltd – where he has held several senior executive positions over the past 16 years.
Lewe’s solid technical and financial grounding, combined with a strong creative side, enables him to see patterns, pathways, and solutions that others often miss. He works with clients all over Australia facilitating and consulting in Strategic Planning & Management, Innovation, Cross-boundary Collaboration and Research Leadership Development.
