SUMMARY:Webinar: So You Wantu Start a Start-up...
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Anne-Marie Walton\nOrganisation: Wantu \nWhat’s it like to cut loose from a safe career so you can focus on bringing your innovative idea to life? \nIs it really the roller coaster that those who have taken the ride before claim that it can be? \n  \nFor 10 years\, mother and manager Anne-Marie Walton had been collecting ideas to solve a major problem for busy parents of demanding digital natives. \nTime and technology were aligned in 2016\, so she climbed aboard the start-up carriage and is now the founder and CEO of a new and fast-developing enterprise refining the KidsWantu app. \nTune in to this webinar to share Anne-Marie’s lessons learned as an over-50 first-time founder and female entrepreneur. Hear her candid account of how focusing on her innovative ideas has not only taken her on the ride of her professional life\, but also to the US and the UK where consumer interest and investment opportunities for Wantu are growing fast. \nAbout the Presenter \nAnne-Marie is a regional entrepreneur creating a positive social impact through Wantu\, an innovative mobile app helping busy adults and carers worldwide get more quality face-to-face time away from a screen with 2-8 year olds\, while building their creative thinking and communication skills. \nAs well as running her own business\, Anne-Marie is Operations Manager at the Fire Station 101 Innovation Hub in Ipswich where she leverages her background of 20+ years’ HR and project management experience working within and managing managed diverse enterprises. \nA life-long commitment to volunteer work across the education and performing arts sectors means many community projects have benefitted from Anne-Marie’s strong collaborative nature. She is passionate about helping women recognise their skills and capitalise on the opportunities modern technology provides to grow and scale their ideas and businesses\, hence her recent involvement with the WiRE program supporting rural\, regional and remote entrepreneurial women. \nMissed a webinar? You’ll find recordings of previous webinars on the Innovate Queensland YouTube channel. \n
