Webinar: Impact Investing
August 2, 2017 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm AEST
Free
Presenter: Natasha Doherty
Organisation: Deloitte Access Economics
Impact Investing, a term coined a decade ago by the Rockefeller Foundation, focuses on generating social or environmental benefits, not just financial returns. It’s expected to grow to $500 billion by 2019, with the total capital available in private markets for social purposes as high as $210 trillion (Investopedia 2015).
Why is this approach to investing enjoying such popularity, and how does it work?
This webinar unpacks the who, what, where, when, how and why of impact investing, including social bonds and other related vehicles. Find out how it differs from philanthropy, why it’s not just not-for-profit organisations that are benefitting, and the evidence base that’s been developed to ensure informed social impact investment.
