Businesses that innovate are 60 percent more likely to increase their profits.

Innovative businesses are also twice as likely to increase their productivity and employment. 

The National Innovation and Science Agenda (NISA) is encouraging businesses to embrace risk, entrepreneurship and be innovators in every field.

With science, research and innovation being critical to powering Australia’s economic growth and prosperity, AusIndustry Regional Manager for Southern Queensland & Northern Coastal NSW, Rowena Ryan, will discuss the NISA’s various innovation and commercialisation support measures available aimed at driving smart ideas that create business growth, local jobs and global success.

About the Presenter

Rowena Ryan is a Regional Manager for AusIndustry, as part of the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

Having headed the Gold Coast-based Regional office for the past 11 years, Rowena has assisted numerous businesses through AusIndustry’s diverse suite of business assistance programs.

Rowena brings to the role many years of business development, account management, and trade facilitation experience across a wide range of industries and disciplines in both Australia and internationally. With postgraduate and undergraduate tertiary qualifications in Accountancy, Business Law & Taxation, Rowena has previously worked with the Queensland Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Brisbane; the Maltese-Australian Chamber of Commerce abroad; and within the property development and telecommunications industries in Australia.

Rowena’s charter at AusIndustry is to ensure that the entrepreneurial spirit of innovative companies is given an environment in which it has the greatest potential to soar, and she plays an integral part in facilitating such growth in the region.
