Impact Innovation congratulates JESI Management Systems on being the first regional company funded under the Government’s Advance Queensland Business Development Fund, securing $500,000 along with another $500,000 from Future Now Ventures.
Townsville’s JESI Management Systems has developed a mobile phone-based B2B software to monitor workers’ movements between sites. It’s keeping workers safe in the USA, Canada, UK, UAE, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia.
JESI stands for Journey Events Safety & Innovation. It allows employers to monitor journeys in real-time and respond immediately if an emergency occurs or a person doesn’t check in. It’s ideal for workers in remote areas and even for people going into potentially dangerous situations in urban settings, such as social workers making home visits in volatile neighbourhoods (view a demonstration).
Impact Innovation helped JESI get ready for seeking investment, with practical support such as preparing pitch documentation, facilitating investor engagement activities, reviewing corporate governance structures, and establishing an advisory board (you can read the case study here).
The Advance Queensland Business Development Fund is a $40 million program offering $125,000-$2.5 million in matched funding, alongside private sector co-investors, to help Queensland businesses turn ideas and innovation into commercial realities.
